In the last article, we introduced the connection of valve and pipe: Flange Connection, actually there are also other types of valve and pipes such as welding connection, wafer connecting, thread connection, ferrule connection, etc. Today will continue to discussed the valve and pipe connections, if you are interested, please read on!
Flange connection
Flange connection is the most commonly used connection types of valve connected to pipeline or equipment. It is a detachable connection method by which flange, gasket and bolt are combined as a complete sealing structure settings. Please see HERE for the detailed information.
Welding connection
Welding connection refers to the valve body with a welding groove, and the pipe system connected by welding. API 600, ASME B 16.34 and other standards stipulate the welding groove. The form of welding groove is as follows:
Welding connections between valves and pipelines can be divided into butt welding connections (BW) and socket welding connections (SW). Butt welding joint (BW) can be used for all sizes, pressure and high temperature working conditions, socket welding joint (SW) is generally suitable for valve with less than DN50.
Wafer connection
Wafer connection a type of connection in which the pipe flanges on both sides of the valve are bolted to the side of the pipe system.
Threaded connection
Threaded connection refers to the connection of the internal or external threads of the valve body to the pipe.
Ferrule connection
The valve body with clamps is connected to the piping system by a ferrule.
